I died in a Washington hospital on June 21, 1864, of typhoid fever. My grave is in the Medford Baptist Cemetery. I had served for just six and one half weeks before passing away at Lincoln General U. S. Army Hospital.

Earlier in my life my family and I lived in both Washington and Shamong townships as did so many of my Bozarth relatives. An area of Tabernacle takes the family name, Bozarthtown. Locals pronounce it “Bozurtown.”

Somewhat strangely, around 1850 William Richards, of the Richards iron manufacturing dynasty, in the 1850 census, also lived with our family. The value of William’s property was then $100,000!
