Tabernacle’s agricultural history included both poultry and dairy farming. In the mid-1900s, poultry farming was a major local industry, with at least a dozen family-run farms producing eggs that were taken to the Lumberton auction and distributed throughout Burlington County. Often operated alongside a household’s regular income, these farms were an important part of everyday life in town. Dairy farming also had a place in Tabernacle’s past, though surviving information is limited. Much of what is known today comes from the recollections of lifelong residents, and we welcome any additional information the community can share.
